Crews can be amended through OARA up until 10pm on the DAY BEFORE THE RACE (Friday 2nd Nov). After this time substitutions must be declared in PERSON, at Chiswick Pier using the form linked below.
On race day, the entries secretary will be at Chiswick Pier House from 7am. All subs must be declared by 9:30am (one hour before racing).
The cox and no more than half the crew (benchmarked at the time entries close) can be substituted (See Time Only section below for crew changes of over 50%).
Please note that it is no longer possible to change status or boat type.
The HOR4s committee must have an accurate list of all crew members competing as in the case of an accident or emergency, we MUST be able to inform the PLA and emergency services, exactly who the masters of the vessels concerned were.
We have had several instances in recent years of coaches omitting to declare cox substations to the committee as they did not deem them to be important. ANY crews found to have undeclared subs (cox'ns or rowers) WILL be disqualified and may forfeit their club’s ability to enter in the following year.
OPTIONS FOR TIME ONLY ENTRIES
Crews who are forced to substitute more than 50% of the rowers (because of illness etc) will be allowed to race for Time Only - it is not possible for clubs to make these subs via OARA - so please contact the entries secretary by email (entries@hor4s.org.uk). On race day all subs must be made at Chiswick Pier.
Where a substitution puts a crew above the points level for the event in which they are entered, the committee will allow the crew to race for Time Only. Again, these subs cannot be made via OARA so please contact the Entries Secretary as above.
All sweep crews must contain a minimum of two points for the race, no option to race for Time Only will be extended to crews who wish to sub below two points and any sweep crew found racing with less than two points WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NO LONGER ANY FACILITY FOR CREWS BOATING FROM PUTNEY TO SUBMIT SUBSTITUTIONS AT THAMES RC.
