Trailers and Parking at Putney
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CREWS BOATING FROM PUTNEY

The Committee is reliant on the goodwill and assistance of the Authorities at Putney for the race to continue with the same number of crews. Therefore, If you are a visiting crew boating from one of the Clubs on Putney Embankment and are planning to trailer boats to and from the race, please ensure you have read, and comply with, the following instructions..

ALL CREWS, from any club whose representatives do not conform to the following rules, WILL be disqualified and may be refused entry in future years.

  • The Police, Traffic Wardens and Council Officials must not only be obeyed at all time but treated with courtesy and respect. Traffic flows and regulations will be obeyed. Race officials will be present on the day directing where trailers are to be parked.

  • Equipment must not block the road at any time. This is an important safety requirement. No cars or tow vehicles can be parked on the embankment.

  • Tow vehicles must leave immediately the trailer is parked. Motor vehicles parked on the embankment will be towed away.

  • Permission has been obtained for towing vehicles to be parked in the Wildlife and Wetlands Trust Car Park in Queen Elizabeth Walk. For map see map to the right.

  • n.b. If you park at the Wetlands Centre, you will need to pay at the visitor centre before leaving.

ONE WAY TRAFFIC SYSTEM FOR TRAILER ACCESS

Trailers must ONLY enter the Embankment via Thames Place.

Glendarvon Road, Rotherwood Road and Festing Road are only to be used as EXIT routes. Trailers are only to be parked on the River side of the Road. Clubs parking their trailer on the other side of the Road will be disqualified.

Race Marshals will be there on the day to direct the parking of trailers. Their instructions are to be obeyed without question.

In the event of overflow, trailers will be sent to the Wildlife and Wetlands Trust. If you are directed there, please park in the far bays as shown on the attached picture.
 


TRAILERS ARRIVING BEFORE RACE DAY

Trailers arriving on Friday night should park on the River side of the Road by Leaders Gardens. Please park the Trailers as close together as possible. Do not park trailers opposite any of the entry or exit roads.
